Pacific Agri-MSME Digital Innovation Challenge


UNCDF is seeking to partner with private sector innovators to design and launch digital solutions that support the development and expansion of agribusiness models and solutions. 

The goal is to support the development and growth of digital agribusiness models and solutions to alleviate financial and other constraints for agribusinesses and smallholder farmers, particularly women and youth, in the region following the disruptions caused by COVID-19 in agricultural value chains.

Proposed solutions must be implemented in Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Kiribati, Tonga, Timor-Leste, Federated States of Micronesia, and/or Republic of the Marshall Islands. 

Registered entities can apply independently or in a consortium under this RFA. In case of a single entity applying for the challenge, the organization must be registered in any of the abovementioned countries. In case of a consortium of multiple partners, the lead applicant must be a registered entity in any of the abovementioned countries whereas other partners can be based anywhere.

The Pacific Agri-MSME Digital Innovation Challenge will co-fund private sector innovators to pilot and scale digital solutions in agricultural value chains for the growth and resilience of smallholder farmers, focusing on women and youth. 

Focus intervention areas under this RFA will include:

  • Access to markets 
  • Access to finance/capital
  • Access to inputs 
  • Efficient business processes 
  • Access to information & skills

Please carefully read the requirements, eligibility conditions, and evaluation criteria for this RFA available in sections 3.1 & 3.2 of the “RFA document” below before submitting your application.

Please note that application to this RFA is a requirement to participate in the Pacific Agri-MSME Digital Innovation Challenge. The challenge includes two stages in which successful applicants will participate if they qualify for each stage:

  • Bootcamp
  • Implementation

To be considered for each phase, starting with the Bootcamp, you must apply to this RFA. However, each stage may require additional due diligence.
